A climbing blog

Three weeks ago, I decided to get a coach! My friend Kathy and I had decided to spend time working on slab and the primordial fear that struck my soul leading greasy slab led me to one thought: okay time to fix my face climbing and fear of falling. Hilariously, I used to be better at face climbing and slab but after spending a LOT of time exclusively climbing and leading cracks I realized that is definitely no longer the case. And as it turns out, multipitch trad (my first love) has a lot of unprotected friction slab. Hence, coaching.

Being the over the top person I am, I made a list of coaches and decided to reach out to Karly Rager from Project Direct. Step 1 is filling out and completing various assessments. And to that end, today was the “record yourself climbing different styles”. It took a bit of willingness to shamelessly set up my $12 Amazon influencer phone tripod, but success! The only downside might be the fact that every boulder was a comp boulder. Dear god.
